- In this method furrows are made with a sugarcane ridger about 203 mm.
- Setts are planted end to end.

- This method is practiced in parts of eastern UP and in Peninsular India, particularly in heavy soils.
- With small furrow inside. It is easy to make fine V-shape ridge with the Trench.
