Punjab Engineers KHALSA Manufacturer of Khalsa Farm Implements was established at Baghpat Road, Meerut, U.P. in the year 1971 by Ajmer Singh as a proprietary unit. Maize sheller & Drumy type thresher were the starting products.
As research got underway Drumy thresher was replaced by single fan & double fan Wheat thresher with elevator, this thresher further helped in
developing a new high capacity Rotary thresher which became very popular later.
In 1975, Malkeet Singh joined the unit; he was Instrumental in putting the unit on a scientific path. The firm got registered with Small Scale
Industries in 1979. In 1984 the firm decided to do some thing new in agriculture farm mechanization. For this,POTATO & SUGARCANE crops were selected. These two
crops had no mechanization till then. With planters the work was started, Potato planters – Belt type & Rotary Disc type were taken up. In sugarcane R & D was started on an automatic cutter planter which could make furrow, place fertilizer, cut the seed,
place the setts into the furrows & lastly cover the furrows all in one pass.
1971 – 1972

1984- 1985
1992 – 1993
In 1992 dramatic change came when we had to develop Potato mechanization for PEPSICO & MOTHER DAIRY. For this, each & every need for crop science was studied & a number of farm mechanization
implements from potato planting to harvesting and grading were developed. Wide row planting
concept for good quality of potatoes, Planter with fertilizer unit, Interculture Tool frame with
fertilizer unit & side dresser , Tractor mounted boom sprayer, Halms cutter, Bed cutter &compactor for heeling, Harvester, Potato Grader were developed.
1993- 1994
In 1993 we got the corporate membership of INDIAN SOCIETY OF AGRICULTURAL
ENGINEERS (ISAE)
1996- 1997
In 1996 Automatic Sugarcane Cutter Planter was developed, demonstrated and launched.
1997- 1998
In 1997 our Sugarcane Cutter Planter was selected for subsidy scheme by Punjab government for the period of five years.
2000- 2001
In 2000 our Sugarcane Cutter Planter was selected for NATP project (Mission mode) as key
planter for nation with CIAE Bhopal as the investigation center.
2001- 2002
In 2001 we developed an improved version of Potato Digger with conveyer & shiver system which resulted in breakthrough of Harvesting Technology.
2003- 2004
In 2003 for the 1st time in India a Potato & Onion Grader was developed & launched with other accessories as 5ton hopper, Inspection Table etc.
2005- 2006
In 2005 for the Ist time in India an Automatic Potato Planter Vertical Belt with Fertilizer unit was launched.
2014 – 2015
We have Launched the latest and India’s first Automatic Potato Combine harvester in 2014.
