GENERAL INFORMATION

Double Trench Ridger  is useful for making of water running row openings and ridgers prior to planting/ sowing water running operations. Specially useful for sugarcane plantation and land preparation time. It can also be used for making small & big channels.

  8. In this method furrows are made with a sugarcane ridger about 203-304 mm deep in northern India and about 304-381 mm in south India.
  9. Setts are planted end to end.
  10. The furrows are covered with 5-6 cm soil, leaving upper portion of furrows unfilled.
  11. Immediately after covering the setts water is let into furrows.
  12. This method is practiced in parts of eastern UP and in Peninsular India, particularly in heavy soils
